7. The Weaver's House, Spon End, Coventry
The Weaver's House is the culmination of a 10-year programme to preserve and restore a terrace of 15th century workers' cottages in the Spon End area of Coventry.
Detailed research found a weaver, John Croke, who was living in the terrace around 1540; his house has been restored to its contemporary state and furnished with his possessions, including a working loom.
This house and the one next door, to be used as a resource centre, will become part of the education facilities for the city.
The loom, furniture and furnishings were made and installed by Interpreting Interiors (01547 550605) and the The Tudor Group www.tudorgroup.co.uk
